NEW PAYMENT PROCEDURES New regulations aimed at safeguarding credit card transactions on the web are being instituted effective Jan 2010. These new regulations are being put into effect by the big credit card companies / banks and would force us to begin using a Pay pal or similar credit card processing entity. Although the effect of these regulations is good, (better security for all of us using credit cards on the web) the net effect for the merchant (us) are significantly higher costs for credit card processing, more complicated procedures, and less flexibility in personalizing our service to our customers (i.e. getting you the lowest shipping rates, etc.) Merchants are also being required to pay the banking entities for monitoring our web security! Instead of going with the flow of the big “system,” we are opting to go a different route and will stop taking credit card information through our website. You, the customer, will still be able to shop and place your order online and supply us with all your shipping and billing information. The only change will be that you won’t supply your credit card information online. You will give us the best phone number and time to reach you and we will call you to get your payment information. Although this may seem less convenient initially, we feel it has several benefits. Your credit card information won’t be on the web at all and that is the best way to protect you from fraud. We will also be able to give you a more accurate shipping quote than you are currently receiving online and you will be able to ask us any questions you have prior to your order being filled. Finally, we will be able to avoid the additional processing and security monitoring costs and thus keep the cost of our products down. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, but feel this is the best route to take given these new circumstances. Thank you for using our products!
